you were smiling

i was looking at
a photo
of you
the other day
and it didn’t match
the image
in my head
possibly
a little
because i’ve been
imagining you
lately
from different
angles
ifyouknowwhatimean
but i won’t admit that
actually
i totally will
but
you looked
in this photo
like
the next day
you know
after you showered
and came out
and made fun
of me
for making
what was left of
your bed
and we went
to your diner
and we
scribbled
on napkins
and
exchanged them
and
gave each other
impressed looks
and nodding noises
when we liked
certain
lines
and i think
shakespeare
got his start
that way
and
then we sat
and music played
and you
watched people
out the
window
and i passed you
a napkin
and you read
you are cute
and you wrote
back
you’re a dork
and i made my
pretend hurt face
and you jotted
a smiley
with eye lashes
and i wrote back
you are cute
and you
footsied me
and
looked out
the window
again
and i stole
one of
your hashbrowns

it was a good day

Sounds like an excellent day. Different angles. Heh.

Does food taste better when you steal it? We’ve had an ongoing discussion on that subject.

As much as I love these captured little moments, the hopefulness of them is depressing as hell today. It’s like a grinning face I just want to punch.

Which is to say, I wish I had that.

That made me happy. A very good day, indeed.
