#thepetecast 48 – “We wouldn’t let Skype keep us apart!” edition with Almie
One of my favourite things about doing #thepetecast — besides getting to pontificate on whatever pops into my noggin — is becoming friends with people I didn’t know at all. I met Almie (@apocalypstick) last week. And, people, she is 37 flavours of awesome.
That’s her up there!
As the title of this post not-so-subtly points out, technology was not our friend.
But we chatted anyway! And it was delightful.
But a little glitchy. Or a lot glitchy. I got disconnected from the call numerous times. It sounds scratchy. Static-y. At a few points I couldn’t hear Almie, but she was on a roll, so I didn’t want to interrupt to ask her to repeat. Did she just say “herpes stew?”
Our gorgeous editor cleaned it up, but it still doesn’t show us at our best. And since #thepetecast is all about giving you, the listener, as wonderful an experience as possible with pants on….
We’re recording another episode with Almie! Very soon!
To hold you over, listen to this one! It’s an appetizer. Or a tease. But not the bad kind. It’s the kind that you know is definitely going to put out. And then some!
I’m not sure what that means.
I read it this weekend. It’s great! You go read it too.
I enjoyed it so much that when, according to my Kindle, I was 74% done reading it, I stopped to send her an email about how much I was digging it. And because I can’t give normal compliments, I told her it made me want to write a book with her. Then, off the top of my head, I told her the imaginary plot.
(On a related note, I kind of fell in love with the plot the next day.)
So buy her book. It is only $2.99.
