of pink beards and promises kept

A few months ago, my brother-in law called me one afternoon. He wanted to know how much money The ACN had raised for the Relay for Life at that point.

“Between 200 and 300 bucks so far,” I replied.

“Well if you can get it to a thousand, I will dye my beard pink for a week.”

A smile formed on my face.

I am not sure if my “tee hee” was out loud or just in my head.

“Oh you’re on,” I said.

With the munchkin’s cuteness, and my willingness to charm, guilt and extort friends and family for a good cause, we broke the $1000 mark.

Last night I got a text from my sister.

“Pink dye-ing! She is so excited!”

And then the photos started appearing on Facebook.

My “tee hee”s were definitely out loud this time.

“He is really going to pink-ify his beard for me!”

A tattoo artist friend of her dad, who adores the munchkin too, said he’d dye his eyebrows pink, if we got $1000.

And they were both men of their word.

I’m not sure how the Charlie Chaplin mustache idea came about…

Dads should always do what they promise.

And the little twerp was pretty pleased with the whole deal.

We are currently someplace in the high $1300s.

I want to sincerely thank those of you who have so graciously donated. We really, really appreciate it. You helped a good cause, and gave an adorably cute little munchkin a lot of laughs.

Because I’m me, I want to hit $1500 by the time the Relay starts tonight. So if you have a few extra bucks hanging around, and want to make a donation, email me and I’ll send you the link.
