It’s been a week and a half since the retirement of Google Reader, and most people have grudgingly found a replacement. While others are still making voodoo dolls of Google employees and working the groin.
If you’re one of those folks who still hasn’t figured out what to do with all those RSS feeds you have lying around, I have an idea for you.
A little higher.
In my menu there is a “Friends.”
It is a feed with my favourite bloggers! (Actually it is a work in progress and currently only has most of the folks who’ve appeared on #thepetecast.)
Cool right? Keeps all your faves in one place AND lets you share them with everyone else.
Wanna know how I did it?
First of all, you need to have a self-hosted WordPress deal on the go. Don’t have that? You should totally get that! (If your blog is worth $60 a year to you.) If you’re ready to upgrade, and don’t know where to start, hit me with an email and I can make some recommendations.
After much digging, I found this plug-in that does exactly what I wanted.
Once installed, you just new blogs to your feed.
And that’s it.
So stop writing “I <3 google Reader” in your Polly Pocket diary and set one of these up.
Don’t have a blog of your own?
You can keep coming back to read my feed!
